Arles

Arles

Arles is situated on the banks of the Rhone River.

Not far from Arles, you will discover the arid plains of Crau, the Alpilles and the famous Camargue, land of the Gypsies and the bulls’ herds “guardians”, with typical old houses in the “manades”. Today the “ferias” or bull runs take place in the arenas like they were the Roman games were already played in the first century.

Arles organizes many festivals, art and a culture exposition; the place has always attracted artists such as Van Gogh who stayed here with his friend Gauguin. Picasso loved bullfights, it has inspired him for several paintings and drawings.
