The Var

As the gateway to the Cote d’Azur and the Verdon Gorges, the Var offers various landscapes, its sunny Mediterranean climate provides residents with an exceptional quality of life.

Le HAUT VAR: NORTH OF THE VAR

Tradition and serenity: with its old perched villages not far from the Verdon Gorges: Cotignac, Tourtour, dominating as far as the eye can see, its traditional provencal villages:Villecroze, Aups, Entrecasteaux, Sillans La Cascade, Tourettes, Fayence, Sillans, where one can still find old stone country houses, charms of another age.

THE COAST

Boasts of 300 km of shoreline on the Mediterranean Sea. Beautiful sandy beaches, wild cliffs plunging straight into the sea, protected islands like Porquerolles, well known beach resorts such as St Tropez, St Raphael, Ste Maxime, Bormes les Mimosas, marina towns that are worth the detour like Port Grimaud and Cogolin.

Var Property prices

Since the arrival of the TGV train in Aix en Provence, there is a massive explosion in property prices but properties are still less expansive in the Var, than the Alpes Maritimes and Bouches du Rhone.

There are also direct flights from the UK to TOULON/HYERES or MARSEILLE.

Prices generally decrease as you go inland from the Mediterranean coast.
Old Mas and Bastides built of stones are still available in the north of the department. Nice traditional Provencal villas with swimming pool in the Inland offer good rental yields from Easter till October; there is a lack of gites and B&B, so still places to create some.

You can find apartments, studios, houses made by architects along the coast where there are many marina developments.

Plenty of exits on the motorway from Aix en Provence to Nice (Saint Maximin La Sainte Baume, Brignoles) that offer you the possibility to catch up quickly the roads leading to the Inland and its famous perched villages.
